The Town of Collingwood’s water pollution control plant (WPCP) required a replacement of their existing indoor diesel engine generator and Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS).
The intent of the project was to maintain operation of the WPCP at all times during replacement work. Our team was retained to complete electrical and mechanical engineering services. Our design included a new 2000A Bypass Style ATS, switchboard, 600kW indoor generator set and silencer, and three indoor diesel fuel tanks with fuel fill monitoring and exhaust stack.
Multiple temporary generators were used to maintain power supply while the existing generator set and ATS were replaced. An overall power scheduling and sequencing plan was submitted prior to tendering.
