Tatham was retained to provide detailed design and construction support services for the re-alignment and naturalization of Sandy Cove Creek. Located near Mapleview Drive East in Barrie, the realignment of this waterway will help reduce flooding risks, control erosion, and improve water quality.

Collaboration was key throughout the project. Our Water Resources and Land Development teams worked closely with various subconsultants to ensure requirements set out by the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority were met.

The final channel design included hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, floodplain analyses, landscape design, and erosion and sediment control details. The installation of two 3-meter by 1.5-meter concrete box culverts will help improve creek flow and two 3-meter by 2.1-meter culverts will accommodate animal crossings.
