Tatham was retained by the Township of Severn for the reconstruction of Grand Tamarack Crescent, a residential road located off a high-traffic section of Highway 11.

Due to its proximity to a busy restaurant chain, it was determined that converting the road from a rural residential road to a semi-urban cross-section would be necessary.

In addition to the installation of a new sidewalk to improve pedestrian safety, the reconstruction also involved enhancing roadside drainage and replacing the Shadow Creek culverts to mitigate flood impacts, as well as integrating new roadway lighting.

With insufficient depth to the outlet at Shadow Creek to construct a new storm sewer, our team developed a unique design with a hybrid cross-section that maintained the roadside ditches while establishing an urban road section.
