Tatham provided detailed design and construction services for twelve sections of road in the Township of Springwater, as part of the 2022 State of Good Repair Road Project. Road reconstructions included Archer Crescent, Bertram Drive, Buckley Street, Dobson Road, Flos Road 4 West, Flos Road 8 East, Golf Course Road, Houden Street, Nash Avenue, Nursery Road, Simcoe Street, and Wilson Drive.
The project addressed critical repairs, from road resurfacing to comprehensive watermain upgrades and urbanization efforts in Elmvale, improving driving conditions and pedestrian accessibility and safety.
The scope of work for most of these roads focused on in-place processing of existing road surfaces, isolated sections of full-depth reconstruction, and placement of new asphalt pavement. Improvements along Houden and Buckley Streets included the installation of new watermain, hydrants and services including connections to existing infrastructure as required.
Within the town of Elmvale’s downtown area, Houden and Simcoe Streets were urbanized with the addition of concrete curb and gutter drainage, road widening for additional parking, the replacement of existing sidewalks, and improved sidewalk ramps with tactile indicators.
