Camp George Sports Pavilion

BUILDING AREA

CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE
Led by Lloyd Hunt Architect, this project came to fruition after years of planning, various concept designs to incorporate specific design aesthetics, and a final design in collaboration with Timber Systems Limited. Throughout the planning and design processes, Tatham Engineering provided the structural design required to support the lofty open-air sports pavilion at a youth summer camp facility.
The final design features 50’ wide x 20’ high vaulted glulam frames supporting exposed glulam framing and a clerestory at the roof level to increase natural lighting. An open central area accommodates a floor hockey playing surface and enclosed areas at either end house washrooms, a stage, and storage space, and incorporate wood shear walls to resist lateral loads across the building.
