Tatham Engineering was retained by the City of Barrie to undertake a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Update of the storm infrastructure in the Sophia Creek Watershed and Mulcaster drainage area. The EA update was undertaken to assess improvement options to the identified drainage deficiencies in the watershed. The tasks completed as part of the EA update included the development and evaluation of the preliminary design of several solutions to the deficiencies identified. Each solution was assessed specific to its impact on the environment and a Public Information Centre was held to solicit comments.

The product of the study is a set of preferred solutions to the identified drainage deficiencies that the City can implement moving forward.
