Craighurst Reservoir and BPS

ORO-MEDONTE, ON

As the Craighurst community prepared for significant residential growth, the need for a reliable, long-term drinking water supply became critical. Tatham was retained  by Georgian Communities as prime consultant and construction contract administrator to design and deliver a water reservoir and booster pumping station (BPS)  for the Craighurst Crossing development.

Tatham’s scope encompassed the design and construction of an in-ground reinforced concrete water reservoir, an at-grade BPS, and all associated infrastructure to connect the new facility to the water distribution network.

From the outset, the project presented a unique set of challenges. The team worked within a constrained triangular lot occupied by a drilled groundwater well, situated between Horseshoe Valley Road, a protected natural area, and a residential property. Navigating this tight envelope, alongside a complex construction schedule and multiple project stakeholders, demanded precise coordination and creative problem-solving at every stage.

The state-of-the-art facility opened in 2025 and now provides a dependable drinking water supply designed to ultimately serve the entire Craighurst community and future developments.
