Since 2005, Tatham has completed annual contracts for 14 municipal infrastructure replacements and improvements in the Town of Collingwood. Most recently, Tatham was contracted for a full road reconstruction and the replacement of sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and watermain on Fifth, Maple, and Ninth Streets.
With the urban residential setting, frequent communication with residents was essential throughout the design and construction phases of the project. Close coordination across internal expertise, such as stormwater management, hydrogeology, and landscape architecture, and external geotechnical subconsultants helped make the project a success.
In addition to reduced maintenance efforts and costs for the Town through the replacement of kilometers of sewers, watermains, and associated services, the preservation of existing sidewalks and mature trees provided further savings, and the inclusion of a retrofitted cross section helped avoid costly utility relocations.
