The Payette drinking water system, rated at 11,000 m3/day, comprises 3 wells, 2 pumping stations (Payette Drive and Robert Street West) and 3 storage facilities (Payette Drive, Centennial Drive and Robert Street West). The Payette Drive reservoir provides all of the primary disinfection contact time for the system.
The Town determined the 100-year old Payette Drive reservoir should be replaced due to its age and to increase available storage volume. Tatham Engineering completed the design, secured approvals, administered a competitive tendering process and completed contract administration and inspection services for 2 new 1,100 m3 glass-fused-to-steel water storage standpipes, upgrades to the gas chlorination system and the addition of an emergency gas scrubber.
