Since 1992, Tatham has assisted Blue Mountain Resort (BMR) with water taking and snowmaking water supply, starting with the detailed design and construction oversight of the snowmaking water supply and distribution system that supplies snow to its 400 acres of ski terrain. BMR draws water from Nottawasaga Bay at Craigleith and pumps the water along Grey Road 19 to a storage reservoir from which the water is distributed to its ski hills for snowmaking.

From 1994 onwards, Tatham has continued to work with BMR on an annual basis expanding their snowmaking supply and distribution system to accommodate their growth. BMR is one of Canada’s busiest ski resorts and sells over 750,000 lift tickets each year.

This assistance includes steering this project and many others through the approvals process receiving all requisite clearances and permits from the Town, MECP, MNRF, DFO, MTO, Grey County, and Coast Guard.
