Barrie, ON: Tatham Engineering is delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Sanfilippo, P.Eng. to Manager of the Structural – Buildings department, succeeding John Johnston, P.Eng., who will transition into a part-time technical advisory role beginning in the new year.
Michael’s promotion reflects his exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and nearly two decades of dedication to Tatham Engineering. Since joining the company in 2002 as a student, Michael has excelled in roles ranging from Engineer to Project Manager, Group Leader, and now Department Manager.
Over the years, he has demonstrated a strong ability to manage complex projects, grow client relationships, and support his team in achieving their goals.
In his new role, Michael will further expand his management responsibilities, working closely with the Structural – Buildings department to drive project success and professional growth. Additionally, he will join Tatham Engineering’s Senior Manager’s Group, contributing to the company’s strategic leadership.

As Michael steps into his new role, John Johnston, P.Eng. will begin scaling back his responsibilities after a 34-year career as a structural engineer. John will continue supporting the Structural – Buildings department as a technical advisor, ensuring a smooth transition until his retirement.
